Sigh. I keep staring at Lauren and Pat’s gallery trying to figure out how to start writing about how much I love this couple… you know that cliche “A picture is worth a thousand words”? I think whoever said that originally must have been talking about this photo session!

Lauren and Pat are expecting a baby boy soon, and so we decided to start off by taking some photographs inside of their cozy home. ( Can’t say it enough.. Lifestyle, lifestyle, lifestyle) I love the simple easiness these two have together. Pat looks so excited, and just look how Lauren literally glows with her Mom-to-Be coffee cup.

Even their dog, Benjamin, was such a dream to work with! One of my favorite things about my job is that I am able to capture sweet and playful snapshots of everyday life. Benjamin was obviously excited for some belly rubs… and I am pretty sure he’ll be just as excited to be a big brother soon. When people think maternity sessions, they automatically think it has to be all about the bump. No, no no! It’s about remembering this time in your life, the important moments and people who were there during that time. That is why I absolutely love lifestyle photography. It takes a moment of your life, and freezes it. No awkward poses. Raw, pure emotion.

Later on, we decided to venture out to one of my favorite places, Harness Memorial Park, for a more romantic setting. Lauren looks absolutely breathtaking in her blue and white maxi dress (that slit!), and Pat is dapper in his Connecticut Casual ensemble. The light peeked in through the trees just enough to frame some images of them together, we battles the high noon sun and humidity, but you would never be able to tell.

We also couldn’t go to Harkness without getting some ocean views in the background. Lauren exudes a quiet confidence here, and she and baby become the true focal point. Ocean, Schmocean!

These two are joyfully ready for parenthood. Congratulation on your soon-to-be new arrival: I can’t wait to meet him!
