Stevie | Connecticut Fine Art Photographer

I was so happy to be back with one of my favorite families! I have taken numerous pictures with this sweet foursome, and they’re always up for anything.

These first few shots make me think of one of my favorite Disney movies: Lilo and Stitch. Stevie had a Hawaiian themed 1st birthday party and Kayla and Steve decided to carry it over to his shoot. ( all the heart eyes) Their complementing Hawaiian garb reminded me so clearly of the phrase Ohana Means Family. Stevie looks like a tiny gentleman in these images, doesn’t he?! The family had some fun playing in the sand together, and then just the kids. The image of Steve holding Lucy’s hand is so sweet; I can see that one at her wedding in twenty (or more!) years. Stevie also had a blast crawling around in the sand in a romper by my absolute favorite vender to work with, Petunia and Ivy.

It wouldn’t be a trip to the beach without exploring every aspect..even the mossy rocks. We really lucked out with weather, even though it was overcast the temperature was perfect — and the clouds gave me some nice clean lighting which was perfect for these beach images. I also can’t get enough of the bright smiles on Mom’s, Dad’s, Lucy’s, and Stevie’s faces here. Those bright grins are definitely genetic.

Finally, we moved back over to the rocks for the big moment: Stevie’s one year cake smash. This beautiful cake by Creative Cakes by Donna was almost too pretty to destroy, but Stevie was definitely up for the challenge. At first, he was a little daunted by the task, so Big Sister Lucy came over to help: first she brought along her trusty spoon ( anyone remember her 1 year session? She wanted nothing to do with that cake!) but by the end of the session she stuck her finger in the cake! ( We were so proud of her for helping Stevie! That was a big milestone!) With some guidance, Stevie got all into the cake. Cake covered baby legs. perfection.
