One of the best benefits to being a family lifestyle photographer is having the privilege to see my clients grow and change. I have known one particular small client since before he was born! I shot maternity images with Lauren and Pat when Lauren was still expecting, and I also worked with Camden when he was still a newborn. I was so excited to see him again for a Year One session… but how is Camden already one year old?!

Lauren, Pat, Camden, Benjamin, and I decided to come full circle and photograph this session at Harkness Park: where, over a year ago, we did part of their maternity session. Harkness is a gorgeous state park that has a beach, a botanical garden, and an historic mansion (that we did not check out this time!) and it is also just so lush during the summertime months. Camden is definitely a beach baby: look how happy he looks in front of the ocean! You would not even be able to tell how miserably hot and humid it was this day.

Longtime blog readers may remember big (fur) brother Benjamin looking particular sullen during Camden’s newborn portraits… but no more! Benjamin and Camden are two peas in a pod now. And, just like a year ago, Benjamin is still trying to lick his little brother’s foot. Camden is lucky to have someone like Benjamin to look after him as he grows up.

Something that hasn’t changed, however, is how much Lauren and Pat love their little boy. This trio (well, quartet, I suppose) simply beams when they are together. From mommy throwing him up in the air to chillin’ on the boardwalk with daddy, Camden knows he is surrounded by people who cherish him.

Happy birthday, Camden! May year two be full of laughter, doggie kisses, walking, first words… and, of course, cake.
