Hayden 1 | Connecticut Fine Art Photographer

This photo session has everything needed to make you long for spring: a gorgeous family, a silly one-year-old-boy, and frosting covered toes! I was so excited to see this little guy again. This marks my third time photographing Hayden, Nazaneen, and Anthony, ( I guess I can technically say 4, if you count when he was in the womb) and I can’t believe he is turning one already: where did the time go?!

For this session, I drew inspiration from the soft colors of spring: blues, browns, and soft, cuddly whites. His darling oversized blue onesie, custom made from my favorite vender Petunia and Ivy, perfectly complements the creamy shag carpet and dark brown exterior. Hayden’s signature stuck-out tongue also added a sense of whimsy and playfulness to our session and, so, we decided we just had to take this party outside. Mom, dad, baby, and I strolled around some lush greens that had us aching for summer. ( Every time I head to the nursery I think of what would look good planted for photos!) As you can see, this gorgeous family looks like they are ready to have a picture-perfect picnic. (Seriously, don’t you just love Naz’s hair?!? And where can I get her blue striped shirt?) Naz and Anthony are clearly besotted with Hayden… almost as much as Hayden was besotted with his cake!

While this New England spring has been finicky, fortune and the sun shined on us and were able to have his cake smash alfresco-style. Hayden had so much fun playing with the frosting not only with his hands— but his feet too! We had a few moments of ‘ It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to….but overall Hayden was so excited to spread the cake around that I think he forgot we were watching him. I feel privileged to have been able to watch Hayden grow up over the last year, and I cannot wait to see what a charming toddler he will become. Happy first birthday, Hayden!
