One year ago, in a faraway land called London, a sweet little prince named Leonardo was born. He was deeply loved by his parents, and this little one was also cherished by family on the other side of the pond. These mysterious relatives knew how special this future king was, even though they had not yet met him. So, the prince, escorted by his mom and dad, hopped in a flying carriage and came to a fairy tale place known as “Connecticut” to meet the rest of his family.
Okay, so Leo might not be a real prince: but he was visiting from London so his family could celebrate his first birthday, and I personally think he could give Prince George a run for his crown in the cuteness factor. Leo’s birthday was celebrated in classic Connecticut style: a clambake and an oyster bar, catered by Clambakes and BBQ of Connecticut. The fondant prince on his white-and-blue themed birthday cake was such a sweet, whimsical touch— and truly befit his royal status! He even surprised his tearfully shocked great-grammie with a 90th birthday cake.
This party also had beverages served out of Anna and Elsa cups for the kids set up with the most adorable Lemonade stand run by a few of his cousins… and a specialty cocktail for the adults; The Sea Breeze, it was a refreshing mix of cranberry, grapefruit, lime, and vodka, and hit the spot on this cloudy summer’s day.
But, Leonardo was the true showstopper. Everyone was so happy to meet him; they even treated him to his first car! 😉 I was also able to have a chance to capture four generations in one image, which is not something I will soon forget. We had a great set of bloopers in the last few frames of the event, can you spot them? 😉 Happiest of birthdays, Leo, and safe travels home!
